For Peace

Ron Santa Teresa's CEO and founder of ONG Proyecto Alcatraz, Alberto C. Vollmer, was a speaker at the "International Symposium on Restorative Justice held at Cali, Colombia last February.

Vollmer (who appears at the picture with other participants of the conference, such as the South African Nobel Prize Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Darwin Ospino, member of Proyecto Alcatraz), exposed the philosophy behind our initiative, who's mayor goal is to eradicate delinquency without violence in the Revenga Municipality, State of Aragua (Venezuela).

The purpose of this summit was to contribute with the quest of non-violent mechanisms to resolve the differences that have torn apart the Colombian society on the last 40 years.

Restorative Justice seeks to restore the relations affected by criminal activities in a process of reconciliation and forgiveness between the victims and the perpetrators with the community.
